I use this as part of my night routine but have not noticed any difference in spot lightening. It's a good toner for average everyday usage but not for specific problems. With the cost as high as it is one of the other basic toners would suffice just as well. I also didn't like the heavy glass bottle that you cannot see through. I was at the end of the bottle and didn't even know it until I put the bottle up to a light bulb to try to see what level it was at.

Especially good for the youth who don't really need heavy treatment for wrinkles and others, but need something mildly to protect the skin :)

I've been using this product for a couple of weeks now and only see marginal difference in my 60 plus years of age face. I have some brown spots around my eyes and had a pea-sized brownish scar in the middle of my nose. Fortunately for me, the product cleared up that awful spot on the nose that I'd been using concealer on for over a year. It's gone. And I did notice a cleaner appearance all round my nose and cheeks where there is a bit of oiliness and large pores. But if the other brown spots on my face were at east faded a good bit, I'd give it a 5 star rating, but they are not. Sadly, another DHC product tried at a cost that's not cheap, but failed to completely deliver for this lady - delivered a bit, but not really worth the effort and dollars spent. Sorry.

I just started using this toner and it is really my favorite. There are so many nourishing elements to feed my skin. Most importantly, this toner evens out my skin tone, diminishes any blotches and prepares my skin for my moisturizer. As an herbalist, I appreciate that there are ingredients that soothe the skin and diminish inflammation.

This is a great product, smoothes skin, reduces spots effectively. I splash it on and pat it in after cleansing and let dry a min before moiturizing.

It is a little expensive, so now and then I try to do without, but every time I watch my skin begin to look and feel rougher, darker, and larger-pored. Nothing else I have tried (from DHC, dept stores, and drug stores) works as well. It cleans deeply and smooths and continues to improve my skin day by day. Along the the other alpha-arbutin products, I'm also seeing many of my brown spots getting lighter and lighter over time. Worth it!
