Occupation
Professional artist and retired schoolteacher
Top three goals rightnow
1. To simplify each day, enabling me to spend more
time with those I love and who love me. I want to
live lighter so that I may go higher and farther.
2. To further my career as an artist through study,
exhibitions, and daily painting.
3. To become more involved in my church and community
by teaching, volunteering, and contributing. I have
lived in the Charleston area for two years and now
realize where and how I can make a difference.
Favorite escapes
A newfound love of paddling through a gorgeous local
marsh in a sea kayak is truly my favorite escape!
You become one with nature and fully experience
the beauty of our coastal paradise. The great blue
herons, egrets, dolphins, and even sometimes manatees
are reminders that we should be calm, leave daily
life behind, and soak in the glorious gifts all
around us.
Hobbies
I am fortunate that my career is my hobby. I can
think of nothing more enjoyable than anything involved
with art, from the planning stage to the exhibition
or sale. However, I love to read a wonderful novel
and travel just about any place!
Simple pleasures
Simple pleasures include a call from an old friend,
meeting a new friend, losing myself in a book, music
of any kind, steaming coffee, ice cream, flowers,
the giggles and laughter of children, playing with
my springer spaniel, Angus, a painting that speaks
to someone, and a decadent pinot noir.
Biggest inspiration
My biggest inspiration now isand has always beenmy
children. They are the force that motivates me to
be my true, authentic self in all facets of my life.
When they were young children, I constantly tried
to lead by example. |
| Because I was a single
parent for a long time, it was often difficult. Now that
they are adults, their lives are examples to me. They
are all concerned, involved adults who have great hope
in making a difference in our world. They are an inspiration
on all levels, from their healthy diets to involvement
in national and world affairs.
Biggest skincare concern
At 53 years of age, I am naturally most concerned
with keeping my skin looking its best by trying
to slow the aging process. However, I have very
sensitive skin, so many product lines have caused
unfavorable results. I must be quite cautious with
what I use because of the sensitivity of my combination
skin.
Idea of perfect happiness
Perfect happiness is knowing my purpose and being
in tune with those in my life so that I am certain
that each day I am making a difference to someone.
Favorite DHC products
I have sensitive skin and find that Mild Soap is just
what I need to gently wash and moisturize without any
irritation. I follow that with my magic potion Tocophero
E Cream, which adds moisture and protection, and gently
resurfaces my skin. I use it both day and night to ensure
that my skin is getting the necessary vitamins needed
to look its best.
I must also mention the product that I use throughout
each day. You will never find me without my Lip
Cream! It moisturizes and conditions as it allows
lipstick to apply smoothly . |
