OCCUPATION
I am an executive assistant. I also host a
half-hour television talk show called Boston Latino. Our mission is to
engage viewers
in thought-provoking topics with a Latino viewpoint. We are the
majority minority now, and we have to use that to our advantage.
I FEEL PASSIONATE ABOUT...
Las Comadres—an informal Internet-based group (www.lascomadres.org)
that meets in several cities to build connections and community
with other Latinas. Our meetings are comadrazos, potlucks
where we eat up a storm, exchange business cards, and chat
about life, work, children, and anything else that comes
up. I really enjoy being a part of Las Comadres. It’s like
having a sister in every state. I feel that it is important
to build community pride and spirit because it’s a way of
preserving our culture. People need to help each other,
and through Las Comadres, I can do that. Las Comadres para
las Americas—connecting and empowering Latinas all
over the world!
STAYING POSITIVE
While battling colon cancer, I stayed positive by not dwelling on the
negative. I tried to live my life as if my cancer were just a cold. I
surrounded myself with family and friends—people that love me very
much. Acceptance is the key to being able to deal with negative blows
in life, allowing you to feel happiness in the midst of chaos.
HIDDEN TALENT
I write poetry.
MY FAVORITE PRODUCTS AND
WHY
DHC products make my skin feel as if it has found a home.
I never felt secure with the results of other products,
but with DHC products I do. I absolutely love Deep Cleansing
Oil. You don't need any other product to get your makeup
off, and it leaves your skin silky smooth. Mild Soap is
another favorite. It makes my face feel clean without that
tight feeling. I also really love Washing Powder. I get
the feeling of soapy suds combined with mild exfoliation.
It leaves my face clean and radiant. |
