"Soccer Mom"
I travel to Mexico and Las Vegas every year to play in soccer tournaments. I have played on teams in the Fairfax County Women's Adult Soccer Association (FWSA) for more than 20 years and still play on an Over 40 FWSA team.
On the run
Sometimes I take field trips to run half marathons. My first was at Walt Disney World, and one of my favorites included the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Racetrack: Entering the famous "brickyard" and running on the banked turns gave me goose bumps.
How to stay energetic
I mix up all of my activities so they all are relatively fresh for me. Also, I eat properly before and after my exercise.
Best beauty advice for working out
I combine stylish workout, exercise or golf clothes with DHC skincare products. Looking nice makes me feel good and improves my aura as well as performance.
Hockey love
I started watching hockey when I attended Michigan State. The skating skills coupled with the physical requirements made hockey my favorite spectator sport. I rekindled my love of it by taking my sons to Washington Capitals games.
Style tips for looking great in the stands
The Capitals "Rock the Red," and almost every fan is dressed in red. So for a Caps game, it is important that it's a good color for you!
On feeling beautiful in your own skin
Confidence is beautiful. Sometimes it just takes reminding myself of my accomplishments or simply wearing makeup and dressing nicely to go to the grocery store.

Favorite family activity
We really enjoy a Chesapeake Bay blue crab dinner on our deck. The time it takes to crack and shell the delicious crabs give us a great opportunity to catch up with the whole family.
Everyone's lovin' "Mac and Cheese"
Our oldest son rescued two kittens when he was going to college in North Carolina. When he moved into a condo that was not conducive to keeping them, we inherited the two tabby cats, McLovin and Cheeseburger Eddie. We fondly refer to them as "Mac and Cheese."
Best holiday tradition
The Christmas holiday season begins the day after Thanksgiving in our home, when our youngest son, who is challenged with autism, insists we put up the first of three Christmas trees!
Making a little magic
Christmas is my youngest son's favorite holiday. He helps me make "Magical Christmas Dust" (oatmeal and glitter) for young children in the Kid's Klub at the health club to sprinkle on the lawn for the reindeer. |
