Handling winter weather
Chilly weather can wreak havoc
on your hands. Following are some tips to help keep
your mitts looking their best throughout the harsh
winter months.
Exfoliating removes lifeless skin and allows new
cells to emerge. Hands can get so dry that dead cells
build up and prevent moisturizers from penetrating.
Use DHC Pacific Rim Salt Scrub, laden with natural
sea salts and six botanical oils, to exfoliate twice
a week and reveal healthy, glowing skin.
Moisturize several times a day, everyday, as arid
winter air will suck moisture out of all exposed skin.
DHC Olive Hand Cream is loaded with the moisturizing
antioxidants olive oil, squalane, and skin-nourishing
vitamin E. Keep a few tubes at the readyin your
purse, car, desk, kitchen, and bathroomand apply
often. Protect your hands. Ironically, water is a
major cause of dryness. Add winter gales and you wind
up chapped. Wear rubber gloves for washing dishes
and cleaning. Invest in a nice pair of dress gloves
that you won't forget to wear outdoors. Pamper your
hands just as you pamper your face.
Masks can work wonders on the age-revealing skin
on the backs of your hands. DHC Moisture Pack, with
its cleansing kaolin clay and super-emollient amino
and hyaluronic acids, helps repair and winter-proof
your skin. Simply slather on the mask, relax for five
minutes, and rinse away.
Nails, too, suffer from the ravages of winter by
drying out, resulting in breakage. Moisturize nails
and cuticles with a couple of drops of DHC Olive Virgin
Oil. Grab DHC Nail Polisher and use the gray side
to buff away ridges; follow with the white polishing
side to get back that sparkle and shine. You can even
use the white side over a dry coat of polish to return
luster.
Drink plenty of wateralways. Hydrating from the
inside out is just as important now as it is in the
summer. Not a fan of cold water? Try it room temperature
with a slice of lemon or cucumber.
Release tension with a daily self-massage to relieve
the stress that can build in the hands. Massage encourages
relaxation and boosts circulation, resulting in plumper,
younger-looking hands.
