I love Q10 Lotion and Q10 Milk, but the bottle makes it hard to tell when I'm about to run out.

Coenzyme Q10 is light sensitive and can lose its efficacy if it’s not protected from daylight and UV rays, so we use high-quality opaque glass bottles to ensure that the formulas for DHC Q10 Lotion and DHC Q10 Milk stay stable and potent until the very last drop. If you’re using your products both morning and night, Q10 Lotion and Q10 Milk should last you about two months.

Remember to always finish your daytime skincare routine with sunscreen. DHC Suncut Q10 30+ protects you with nano-sized particles of zinc and titanium—all in a lightweight, invisible finish.

I know it's important to use sunscreen year-round, but during the winter my skin needs more moisture. Can I use White Sunscreen with another moisturizer?

Absolutely! Just let your moisturizer absorb for a few seconds before finishing with DHC White Sunscreen. Choose your moisturizer based on your skin type, your texture preference (for example, milky or thick), and how dry you get during the winter. If you have oilier skin, you don't necessarily need to stick with oil-free moisturizers. Think about trying a moisturizer that has a milky consistency, like DHC Emollient Balm. If you have drier skin, using an intensive moisturizer is the better choice. DHC Olive Virgin Oil is a great option.

After toning with Q10 Lotion, which Q10 moisturizer should I use?

It is all a matter of personal preference. DHC Q10 Milk is a lighter-weight moisturizer, making it ideal for daytime use, whereas the rich, thicker consistency found in DHC Q10 Cream lends itself perfectly to overnight wear. Coenzyme Q10 naturally exists in the skin, but diminishes as we age, so using either the milk or cream will benefit your skin. For added moisture, you can also layer Q10 products.

I use Olive Leaf Milk morning and night. I¹m curious, however, about Olive Leaf Cream. What's the difference?

In general, creams have a thicker, more emollient texture. I like to use DHC Olive Leaf Cream at night. (I prefer to use all my extracts and serums overnight because that is when skin absorbs the most moisture.) When we sleep, our skin is trying to undo the damaging effects that happen during the day. Nighttime is the optimal time for skin to regenerate and repair itself because it is safe from the sun, pollution, and stress that daytime brings. Another product you may want to consider is concentrated Olive Leaf Extract. Apply Olive Leaf Extract right before Olive Leaf Cream for added firming and strengthening benefits. Are thicker creams really necessary? You don't have to use one, particularly if you have extremely oily skin, but I highly recommend it, especially at night when the performance ingredients can be best put to use.

When I use DHC Olive Virgin Oil before makeup, I sometimes find that my face becomes shiny. Help!

It could be that you're using too much oil. Remember that a little Olive Virgin Oil goes a long way and you should be using only one to two drops for your normal skincare routine. Rub the oil between both palms to warm it (this greatly increases its absorption ability); then gently smooth or pat it over the skin.

Wait a minute or two for it to penetrate before applying makeup. It's important to note that absorption of any moisturizer is hindered when skin is dehydrated, so make sure to use plenty of toner before applying Olive Virgin Oil to help it penetrate better. You can also use Matte Cream before applying makeup for a shine-free finish.

You have three products in your Ceramide series, and I hear that ceramide is also an ingredient in others. What is it and what does it do?

Your body produces a variety of ceramides, several of which are found in skin. Ceramide is an intercellular lipid'a fluid that exists between skin cells, keeping them hydrated and healthy. As we age, we produce less of our own natural ceramide, resulting in very dry skin. Worse, lowered levels of ceramide decrease the skin's natural defenses, which can cause problems such as hypersensitivity or easily irritated skin. True to its name, fast-acting Ceramide Quick rapidly infuses botanical ceramide deep into your skin to help restore lost ceramide.

If Olive Virgin Oil is a moisturizer, why do you offer so many other moisturizers? If I'm using Olive Virgin Oil, how do I use it with your other products?

Each person's skin is unique. With hormone flux, environmental factors, aging, and the continual shifting of seasons, everyone's skin is constantly changing. This is why DHC offers a wide variety of products. All-natural Olive Virgin Oil is our original'and still most popular' moisturizer, but sometimes particular skin needs or just plain personal preference may require something different. For excessively dry skin, you may want to consider adding a ceramide product. All that time spent in the sun beginning to show? Try a brightening product. If it's lines, check out our different anti-aging items. If you can't decide which product is right for you, just call us and one of our beauty consultants will assist you. Just remember: Olive Virgin Oil can be used in a skincare regimen that includes any of our products. When that's the case, it should be the final step, applied over all other moisturizers, where it will help to prevent moisture from evaporating from the skin. Get creative and discover how it will best work for you'as a nighttime moisturizer, mixed with your usual moisturizer to increase its hydrating power, as a spot-treatment, or as an all-over treatment. Let your skin decide.

What's the difference between DHC Olive Virgin Oil and the olive oil in the supermarket?

DHC Olive Virgin Oil works as an excellent moisturizer, but supermarket olive oil does not. Why? DHC Japan first receives high-quality organic extra virgin olive oil from Spain in its original post-harvest condition. The oil is unique even by gourmet standards, as it is the small and precious amount of free-run oil that is released from the olives even before the first cold pressing. It is decanted naturally, without heat or chemicals. Unfiltered, it contains bits of peel and pit that lend a rich golden cloudy appearance. And although these may be unnoticeable to the palate, they can clog pores if applied to the face. So after the oil is received in Japan, DHC utilizes a special filtration and refining process to remove all impurities from the oil, rendering it lighter, clear in color, and essentially aroma-free, but still chock-full of the skin-beneficial vitamins and antioxidants. That's the DHC difference.
