INTERESTS AND HOBBIES I love to travel. My husband teaches a history of civilization class at a university. We have traveled extensively, often leading tour groups. I also sew, and I've made three wedding dresses. I enjoy cooking and making people happy with food. With 10 for dinner every night, I had a lot of opportunities to perfect this skill. I take pleasure in scrapbooking, art, and teaching. I work out and especially like spinning, aerobics, weight lifting, yoga, and Pilates. I love singing, especially harmony. I sang with the international women's barbershop organization Sweet Adelines for 18 years. ABOUT MY HUSBAND He's my No. 1 hero. He's talented, creative, dedicated, and a man of integrity. Being married to him is an adventure. He knows how to make things happen.

I admire people like Gandhi and Mother Teresa—lives that were lived with integrity and a dedication to others. I also admire the everyday heroes who sacrifice time and effort in the service of us all—firemen, paramedics, rescue teams, good neighbors, and so on.

FAVORITE FAMILY ACTIVITY
Gathering for dinners, including birthdays and holidays. It is quite a crowd when we are all together. There are usually about 30 or 40 of us.

Pigs! I don't have any real ones, but my home is decorated with hundreds of replicas. I even have a weather vane on top of my house that says, "When pigs fly..."
