DHC Deep Cleansing Oil:
How do I use it?
Dispense into dry hands, then massage onto dry face to dissolve makeup, dirt and other impurities. Rinse thoroughly.
Why do I have to use dry hands?
Deep Cleansing Oil's olive and rosemary oil formula is water-soluble, meaning it dissolves when it comes into contact with water. That's why it washes away completely during rinsing, without leaving any oily residue behind. To maximize its cleansing power, make sure your hands and face are dry when you apply and massage it into your skin. That way, you'll know that is thoroughly breaking down makeup and excess sebum before rinsing.
Do I have to use another cleanser after it?
Face cleansing is really two steps: removing makeup and washing skin. Using both a makeup remover and lathering face cleanser is the best way to ensure your skin is thoroughly clean, particularly if you're someone who wears makeup daily. Deep Cleansing Oil is specially formulated to mix with the oil-based components in makeup and "melt" on contact with water so that dissolved makeup can rinse away. Lathering cleansers, like our Mild Soap, washes skin of finer impurities.
Generally, soaps are lathering products that contain surfactants, which aid in emulsifying oils and suspending dirt on your skin, allowing them to be easily rinsed away. Surfactants also create surface tension that helps pull dirt and grime from your skin. On days that you don't wear makeup, using just one lathering cleanser (click here to see our complete selection), will do.
Why should I use one?
Toning is an essential step in skincare. Not only does it instantly refresh and rehydrate your complexion after cleansing, it also helps decongest pores and balance your natural pH level—promoting a calmer complexion. Plus, it preps skin to best receive the benefits of your booster and moisturizer. Our toners combine nourishing botanical ingredients with the most advanced skincare formulas to produce truly noticeable results. We offer a much bigger selection of toners than just about any beauty company because we believe so strongly in the importance of this step for good skincare. In fact, our toners are so nourishing and hydrating, we call them "lotions." Click here to browse our complete collection of toners.
Why do I need to use a sunscreen with Renewing AHA Cream?
DHC Renewing AHA Cream is an exfoliating milk with a potent 10% concentration of alphahydroxy acid. It provides the wondrous benefit of removing dull and lifeless skin cells to encourage cell turnover as well as reveal fresh, new cells that glow. As this topmost layer is removed, the newly exposed skin may be ultra-sensitive to the damaging effects of sun. For this reason, we recommend that use Renewing AHA Cream at night, before bed, and that you protect your skin with a broad-spectrum sunscreen, such as our DHC White Sunscreen.
