ACTING
I’ve always been a writer and I love telling
stories, so making the transition from prose
to screenplays and acting was pretty easy.

Most actors, producers, writers, and crew
are just regular working people like everyone
else.
MY SCIENCE CLASS
I teach a wide variety of classes—preschool
through fifth grade. I teach children about
dinosaurs, chemistry, inventions, bugs, outer
space, polymers (aka “slime”!),
and much more. If you get kids excited about
a subject, then they’re hooked for life.
They’re also natural comedians. I get
a lot of material from them.
INTERESTS AND HOBBIES
Reading, writing, film, hiking, camping, environmental
issues, and nowboarding. I lived in Colorado
in my teens, started snowboarding when I was
14, and never looked back. When I began, I was
often the only female on the mountain. Now,
even grandmothers snowboard!

IDEA OF PERFECT HAPPINESS
Having the freedom
to write whenever I
feel like it, traveling
to distant places in
the world, being surrounded by animals and children,
and not having to
worry about money.
FAVORITE PLACE
Anywhere in the mountains that’s up high and away from it all. I love
the Rockies and the Sierras, but there are so many
places I haven’t traveled to yet—my favorite place
is still open to revision.

HOW I PAMPER MYSELF
A massage and facial at a spa, followed by great food.
HOW I SPEND
MY WEEKENDS
Outdoors! And catching up on work, of course—although when you own a small business like I do, you never get a regular "day off."
