Amy Wesson, mother of four, gets her enviable glow from her family as well as her dedication to great skincare. She's already instilling healthy habits in her children: "It requires role modeling and a bit of education. I believe the age-old wisdom that our children will do as we do, not as we say."
Interests
I love the fresh air and a good long walk. I teach parenting classes and greatly enjoy working with families and helping them discover their strengths and what gives them balance.
How I stay healthy
Having spent 10 years being either pregnant or breastfeeding, it became a way of life for me to treat my body well. I enjoy how I feel when I eat well and exercise.
Making time for yourself as a new mom
I think a lot of women, especially those new to motherhood, have a hard time feeling OK about taking time for themselves. Whether it is a walk alone or a night out with girlfriends, enjoy the time and let the worry go.
Best beauty tips for moms
Water: Drink it and soak in it. Lock the door, add some aromatic bubbles and enjoy that 10-minute bath. Even if you are tired, take the few minutes to wash your face and moisturize (with the door closed).
How to share healthy habits with your kids
When you have kids, it's a really nice time to show them all the different foods that are out there and that it's OK to taste and try new things. As a vegetarian, I find that I feel better when I eat this way. I tell my kids, "If it grows from the ground and doesn't need anything else, then it's probably going to be good for you and is a good way to take care of yourself from the inside out, instead of only taking care of the outside; you need to do both."
On feeling beautiful in your own skin
When I was younger, I never truly believed that beauty was more than skin deep, but the way we approach the world and others is what makes us beautiful. You shine from the inside out.
