Occupation
Massage therapist and wellness consultant. My husband and I own the Capitola Health Center and specialize in complementary care (holistic services that complement your health care).
Interests and hobbies
Exercise, yoga, cooking, gardening, travel and shopping.
How I stay healthy
Walking at least one hour daily—sometimes on the beach with my husband and our dog, Buddy; plus I do Pilates, yoga, and Zumba®, as well as consume a traditional Japanese diet, including lots of green tea.
Favorite place in the world
Tokyo, Japan. The humid weather is great for my skin!
Favorite book
A Thousand Names for Joy: Living in Harmony with the Way Things Are, by Byron Katie. It teaches how to live with passion in everyday life.
What I'm passionate about
First, my family. Then, living a healthy life through yoga, exercise and diet.
My greatest achievement
Raising two beautiful and talented daughters.
I'm inspired by
My children and my husband. They are accomplished musicians and people who have overcome great obstacles and achieved success in their lives.
Items in my fridge
Tofu, soy milk, blueberries, wakame (edible seaweed) and miso.
Where I see myself in 10 years
God willing, I’ll be in great health and enjoying all the same things I do now. I’d love to travel more to Asia and Europe once we retire.
Something you'd never guess about me
I’m very small (4'11"), and new clients look disappointed when they first see my small stature. However, after their massage, my clients—even men—say that I give the deepest massage they’ve ever experienced. |
