FAVORITE QUOTE
“Life has taught us that love does not
consist in gazing at each other, but in looking
outward together in the same direction.”
—Antoine de Saint-Exupéry
(author of The Little Prince). This
quote always reminds me of the shared goals
for our life that my husband and I have.
MUSICAL INSTRUMENT
Cello—I started learning it as an adult.
It has such expressive notes. It often complements
my moods, and I love both the sadness and the
joy it can convey.
IF I COULD RELIVE ANY
MOMENT
I would give anything to be able to go back
and mend my relationship with my father. He
was killed in the Oklahoma City federal building
bombing. I wish I could return to the last time
I saw him and make sure he knew how much I loved
him.

I AM PASSIONATE ABOUT
I grew up in a family where reading was an everyday
thing, educating oneself was extremely important,
and traveling occurred often—even if it was just to
the beach. As I grow older and come in contact with
people from various parts of the world, I understand
how important it is that I not only learn about myself
and where I come from, but also make a true effort
to learn about others and their cultures. My husband
and I have found some wonderful friends by remaining
open to new things.
TALENT I WOULD MOST LIKE TO
HAVE
I would love to be a sultry jazz singer or be able
to play the cello like Yo-Yo Ma.
FAVORITE FOUR-LEGGED FRIEND
My beagle, Maggie, is the best hiking companion a
person could have, and she loves begging at campsites
for marshmallows, hot dogs, and pretty much anything
else she can get her paws on.
