My husband's skin continually gets irritated
from shaving, but I cannot convince him
that he'd benefit from an aftershave.
Redness and razor irritation to the face and neck are common
post-shave side effects for men with more sensitive skin
and can contribute to unwanted, painful ingrown hairs. To
help combat these issues and help calm and condition skin
from the stresses associated with shaving, we suggest using
DHC After Shave Lotion [Men]. Formulated with soothing properties,
including cooling aloe and relaxing chamomile, it's
a refreshing after-care solution he'll want to use
every day.
My husband gets razor burn and ingrown
hairs from shaving. What do you recommend?
To help prevent razor burn, I always suggest shaving in
the shower. The heat and moisture will help soften his skin
and facial hair. Also have him exfoliate regularly with
AP Scrub [Men]. Fine granules of apricot seed polish away
dead skin cells to help unclog pores and allow the hairs
to stand up, enabling a closer shave. Equally important
are replacing razor blades frequently and using an emollient
shaving cream—water alone is not sufficient. Did you
know that DHC Cleansing Foam makes a wonderful shaving cream?
Once he's clean-shaven, all he needs is a splash of After
Shave Lotion [Men] to calm his complexion and a dab of nourishing
Face Cream [Men] to moisturize and soothe.
