Dress To Impress

Enhance the bounty of late-summer produce with DHC Núñez de Prado Extra Virgin Olive Oil and five easy, delicious dressings.

1. Cool, creamy, herbal

Absolutely Avocado
1 large avocado, pitted and skin removed
3 tablespoons DHC Núñez de Prado Extra Virgin Olive Oil
2 tablespoons lime juice
2 tablespoons chopped cilantro
1/4 teaspoon honey
1/4 teaspoon salt
pinch cayenne pepper, or to taste

Combine and blend until smooth. To serve, toss with crisp greens such as iceberg and romaine, and radishes. Use as a dip with crudités or top a grilled chicken breast.

2. Tangy, citrusy with a kick of cayenne

Luscious Lemony Yogurt
1/2 cup plain or Greek yogurt
2 tablespoons DHC Núñez de Prado Extra Virgin Olive Oil
2 tablespoons lemon juice
1/2 teaspoon grated lemon zest
1/2 teaspoon Dijon mustard
1/4 teaspoon salt
cayenne pepper, to taste

Combine ingredients and blend until smooth. To serve, dress heartier foods such as lentils, steamed beets or red potatoes and arugula.

3. Nutty sesame flavor

Must-try Miso
1/4 cup rice vinegar
3 tablespoons white miso
1/2 cup DHC Núñez de Prado Extra Virgin Olive Oil
1 tablespoon sesame seeds
1/4 teaspoon sesame oil
1/4 teaspoon sugar
pinch cayenne pepper, or to taste

Blend vinegar and miso. Gradually whisk in remaining ingredients until smooth. To serve, dress crisp lettuce such as romaine and iceberg with crunchy vegetables such as carrots, radishes and bean sprouts. Delicious with grilled tofu.

4. Soy, lemon, ginger medley

Perfectly Ponzu
1/4 cup DHC Núñez de Prado Extra Virgin Olive Oil
1/4 cup soy sauce
3 tablespoons lemon juice
1 tablespoon rice vinegar
1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
1/4 teaspoon sugar

Combine ingredients and blend until smooth. Whisk before serving and use to dress salads with Asian flavors, such as a Chinese chicken salad or seared tuna with cucumbers and mixed salad greens.

5. Savory and tart

All-Star Vinaigrette
2 tablespoons wine vinegar (red, white or champagne)
1-1/2 teaspoons shallot, minced
1-1/2 teaspoons Dijon mustard
1/8 teaspoon salt
freshly ground pepper, to taste
chopped fresh herbs, such as mint or thyme
6 tablespoons DHC Núñez de Prado Extra Virgin Olive Oil

Mix together all ingredients except olive oil. Whisk in the olive oil. To serve, dress tender greens such as butter lettuce or field greens. Vary the dressing by adding other fresh herbs.
