Organic Virgin Olive Oil
Yes, the one you commonly find in delish Italian dishes. Though it doesn’t originate in Japan, olive oil is used in many popular Japanese skincare products and is particularly special to ours. In fact, over 70% of our products have olive derived ingredients! Why do we love the aromatic liquid so much? Because olive oil's beauty benefits are unmatched! For one, it provides long-lasting moisture while protecting the skin almost instantaneously upon application. It also helps fight signs of aging by preventing damage caused by free radicals and environmental impurities, thanks to its antioxidant properties. Olive oil is also non-comedogenic—its lightweight texture doesn’t clog pores. It’s rich in protective squalane, vitamins, omega-6, and oleic acid that all work to soften the skin, promote elasticity, and fight oxidative damage. Rice Peptides
It’s true—rice is a lot more than just your staple side dish or favorite sake drink. Rice derivatives can actually be heaven for your skin. Rice peptides specifically revitalize skin, promote skin cell turnover, help eliminate dullness and encourage firmness—it’s the perfect anti-aging superhero. Rice water is also known to lighten dark spots and brighten dull skin; applying it will help you to achieve a soft, smooth texture. Collagen is a naturally occurring protein found in our skin that keeps it full and supple. The thing about our Super Collagen, though, is we designed it. Yes, our very own DHC research scientists found a way to micronize the collagen peptides into Dipeptide-8, a much smaller skin-firming collagen molecule (and it’s vegan!). Because our Super Collagen is so much smaller, your skin absorbs it almost instantly, maximizing hydration and elasticity. Cool, right?
